You may be wondering exactly what an actuary is. This professional group is made up of highly-qualified experts in calculation. Put simply, you could say that they are responsible for any calculations relating to risk and value assessments. Most of their work is done for insurance companies. In recent years, the discipline has been extended and, partly in response to the credit crisis, European legislation has been introduced.

For an international society of actuaries, we developed a brochure which the society was able to use in Brussels to raise its profile.
